Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Band 8a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to take on a new locum opportunity.
Location: London
Contract Type: Locum, ongoing block booking.
Working Hours: Monday – Friday (9am – 5pm)
Pay Rate: £26 - £31 per hour (assignment rate):
- Days: £26 - £31 per hour
- Nights/Saturdays: £33 - £39 per hour
- Sundays/Bank Holidays: £41 - £47 per hour
Main Duties:
- Maintain a visible presence in clinical areas and ensure accessibility for patients, families, and carers.
- Monitor adherence to Trust standards and protocols.
- Coach staff on Trust protocols and procedures.
- Utilise advanced clinical practice skills and expert knowledge along with nationally recognised assessment tools to accurately evaluate clinical, psychosocial, or health status.
- Participate in emergency responses, both psychiatric and medical.
- Gather and review both subjective and objective assessment information to inform decision-making and negotiate and regularly review personal care plans with patients, carers/relatives, and relevant multidisciplinary team members.
- Collaborate with managers, ward staff, and clinical teams to ensure the delivery of high standards of clinical care to patients at all times.
- Promote health by empowering patients and carers, providing appropriate health education, information, and advice to enable informed decision-making about their care.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness in all clinical and public areas of the Trust, supporting ward staff and clinical teams in meeting infection control and prevention responsibilities, and ensuring cleaning standards are upheld.
- Support the development and implementation of Clinical Governance initiatives in collaboration with the Head of Nursing.
- Foster an environment where infection prevention and control are integral to care delivery, set and monitor environmental standards, and ensure compliance with cleaning audits and other inspection specifications.
- Establish a communication framework to ensure effective teamwork internally and externally across clinical teams and the Trust, optimising the patient journey and improving patient outcomes.
- Develop and maintain appropriate relationships, partnerships, and networks to influence and enhance health outcomes.
Requirements of the Registered Mental Health Nurse:
- Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
- Proven experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse
- Valid NMC Registration
