The salary for this permanent Recovery Navigator job is £25,154 per annum.
Duties:
- Assess, treat and manage their own caseload and provide highly specialist neurorehabilitation physiotherapy skills
- Provide therapy provision to neurorehabilitation and work within the wider therapy team covering acute neurological rehabilitation areas
- Focus on service delivery of a high quality, robust and highly effective therapy provision to neurorehabilitation inpatient areas
- Motivate, empower, coach and develop team members through supervision frameworks
- Have line management responsibility for physiotherapy Caregivers within the neurorehabilitation physiotherapy team including annual appraisal duties
- Assist in operational management and deliver neurological physiotherapy with advanced assessment, management and clinical reasoning to neurorehabilitation patients linking in with the wider MDT
- Provide and act as a source of clinical expertise in the physiotherapy management of neurorehabilitation patients to MDT deputising for the clinical lead neurorehabilitation Physiotherapist as required
Requirements of the Recovery Navigator:
- Degree in relevant AHP area
- Post-graduation experience and education / training in neurological area of specialty
- Evidence of training / experience in appraisal, supervision of Physiotherapists/students
- Evidence of continuous professional / academic development relevant to clinical field
- Evidence of training / experience in basic research skills ( critical appraisal, literature reviews)
- Fluency in written and spoken English essential, additional language skills are desirable
- Current registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) desirable
- Membership of special interest group desirable
- Specialist knowledge and experience in application of clinically reasoned, safe and evidenced based techniques, assessments, management plans and outcome measures in relevant clinical area of neurorehabilitation and neurological physiotherapy
- Effective and adaptable communication using a variety of verbal and written techniques to the needs of the patient, family, carer and wider MDT
- Ability to prioritise, delegate, organise and work effectively to a deadline
- Ability to provide innovative, creative and evidenced based education to therapists and MDT
- Knowledge of role of psychological effects on rehabilitation and management of effects
- Knowledge of clinical governance including quality and effectiveness
- Able to maintain high level of CPD and integrate this within daily practice
- Demonstrate expert respiratory and manual handling skills including effective application of neurological physiotherapy techniques / specialist therapeutic handling techniques and use of equipment including robotics
- Ability to resolve conflict and establish and maintain good professional working relationships
