Seven Resourcing are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a client in the West Midlands.

Location: Wolverhampton, West Midlands

Salary: £60,000

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time

Summary of Role:

Responsible to a Project Manager or Commercial Manager for all commercial aspects of a project or a section of a project. Ensure that VINCI commercial position is protected using in depth understanding and experience of contractual, commercial, insurance and legal processes. Some responsibility for effective client relationship management to encourage smooth commercial progression of the contract(s)

Provides liaison with the client, PQS, and senior staff. Expected to manage and provide development and support to other commercial team members. Responsible for planning and managing own work and that of other commercial team members.

Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:

Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities

Perform cost analysis for building projects

Provide advice on contractual matters

Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations

Monitor and manage project costs throughout all stages of construction

Prepare and submit valuations and variations to contracts

Conduct risk assessments and manage risks related to cost

Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders

Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor:

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry

Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control

Excellent numerical and analytical skills

Proficiency in relevant software such as Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software

Effective communication and negotiation skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable
