Pay Rate: £38 per hour (assignment rate)

Contract: Locum & 3-month contract

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Monday - Friday.

Duties:

  • Facilitate practice clinical education
  • Conduct competency assessment and training of all staff
  • Promote high standards of care through the demonstration of clinical expertise
  • Facilitate the creation of a positive learning environment in the workplace where staff development is encouraged and supported
  • Facilitate the induction, education and continuing professional development for all levels of registered and non-registered nursing staff within the Nursing Teams
  • Work alongside staff in individual teams undertaking a key role in practice development
  • Act as an effective professional role model to others

Requirements of the Prison Practice Nurse Educator:

  • Be able to support learners in the workplace
  • Registered Nurse
  • Educated to Masters degree level or equivalent
  • Clinical Leadership training
  • Evidence of continuing personal and professional development
  • Previous experience in practice development
  • Experience in taking forward clinical and service change
  • Experience of working in a changing and uncertain environment
  • Experience of delivering on development initiatives and leading change with individuals and teams
  • Experience of working with staff and stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience of using evidence to inform best practice
  • Experience of engaging with patients, and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of practice development and change management
  • Knowledge of the NHS agenda of how it impacts on service delivery
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to implement and evaluate successful change programmes
  • Leadership skills, relationship building skills and influencing skills
  • Ability to focus on key priorities and to sustain momentum to achieved desired results
