Duties:
- Functional Assessment: Conduct detailed assessments of patients' mobility, balance, strength, and endurance. This may include testing gait, walking speed, sit-to-stand transfers, and other functional movements to assess the patient's baseline functional status.
- Cognitive and Psychological Assessment: Recognize the cognitive and emotional needs of frail patients, particularly in relation to delirium, confusion, or depression, which are common in acute settings.
- Develop Tailored Care Plans: Based on the assessment findings, develop individualized physiotherapy care plans focused on maintaining or improving the patient's function, reducing the risk of falls, and addressing any specific needs related to frailty.
Requirements of the Physiotherapist:
- Qualified physiotherapist, i.e., Degree or equivalent within Physiotherapy
- Recent UK experience within specialised physiotherapy
- Registered with the HCPC as a physiotherapist to work in the UK
- NHS experience would be advantageous but not essential
