Are you currently an Pharmacy Quality and Safety Production Manager looking for a new challenge? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Quality and Safety Production Manager with Critical Care experience to join our client's pharmacy team. They are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with excellent clinical skills to lead and transform their pharmacy services for Critical Care and Antimicrobial Stewardship.

The hospital covers a number of specialist units including ICU, Gynaecology, CCU/HDU, Cardiac Treatment, and Digestive Health. Joining this team offers experience and exposure to these diverse areas and experts within these fields.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the development, implementation, and management of pharmacy production services, ensuring compliance with local and national legislation (Section 10 Exemption of the Medicines Act 1968), regulations, and best practice standards, including CCHS guidelines.
  • Develop and implement a sterile (aseptic) production service for providing Oncology and Central Intravenous Additive Service (CIVAS) parenteral medications.
  • Take responsibility and accountability for the non-sterile solid form production service, including epic compound, repackaging, and unit dose robot production.
  • Manage and be accountable for the non-sterile liquid form production service, providing manually prepared oral liquid unit dose medications.
  • Develop and implement a technical medicines information service to provide technical information and advice on medication production to Caregivers for configuring medications on Epic and BBraun pump libraries, as well as for decentralized and non-standardized centralized preparation.
  • Serve as the Accountable Pharmacist for these services, offering information and support to the Authorised Pharmacist and other production Caregivers

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent)
  • GPhC Registration
  • Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience
  • Significant pharmacy production experience (including Oncology) some of which at leadership level
  • Substantial hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Experience supporting the development and implementation of medicines optimisation systems with clinical, IT and informatics teams.
  • Clinical oncology experience is desirable
