The salary for this permanent Occupational Therapist job is £25,392 - £35,392 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Planning and implementing individual and group interventions collaboratively with patient/s.
  • Complex discharge planning, casting and splinting, assessing occupational performance as well as cognition and behaviour and assessing those in prolonged disorders of consciousness to identify level of awareness and compiling appropriate treatment plans Actively implementing evidence-based practice.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records, including care notes, written reports and discharge summaries in accordance with Elysium Healthcare and Occupational Therapy professional standards.
  • Establish effective communication with patients and their carers, all staff and other agencies.
  • Implement and develop evidence-based therapeutic activities to aid neurological rehabilitation
  • To fulfil a variety of duties and responsibilities associated with maintaining a caseload, meeting the standards set in the Occupational Therapy department care-pathway while adhering to HCPC regulations.
  • Complete full assessments, plan, implement intervention and evaluate outcomes as per department pathway, enabling the patient in areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure.

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Registered Occupational Therapist with Dip COT qualification or degree
  • Member of British Association of Occupational Therapy
  • Experience in working in a neurological setting or demonstrate interest in working in this area.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices within a similar setting
  • Knowledge and practical experience of the Occupational Therapy process in mental health or neurological settings
  • Experience, knowledge and skill in supervising OT staff and students
