Duties of the Podiatrist
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' foot health, identifying conditions like ulcers, infections, and other complications, especially in high-risk groups such as individuals with diabetes
- Develop and execute individualized treatment plans, which may involve wound care, debridement, and other interventions to manage and alleviate foot ulcers and related conditions
- Provide specialized care for foot wounds, including the selection and application of appropriate dressings, monitoring healing progress, and adjusting treatments as necessary to promote optimal recovery
Requirements of the Podiatrist
- Qualified podiatrist i.e. Degree or equivalent within Podiatry
- Recent experience within podiatry
- Registered with the HCPC as a podiatrist to work in the UK
- NHS experience would be advantageous but not essential
- Locums would be required to have skills in High-Risk patient care and ulcer patient care
- Able to work independently
- Car driver required – able to travel across county as part of role
