Position: Inclusion, Education Access Team Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Inclusion and Education Access Team Manager to act as the Education Strategic Lead for all matters related to statutory processes and responsibilities, including Suspension, Medical Needs, Fair Access Protocol, and Alternative Provision. In this vital role, you will promote and drive the Inclusion agenda across schools and educational settings, ensuring every child and young person receives the support they need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust Service Level Agreements and quality assurance processes for commissioned places at the Council’s Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), ensuring regular monitoring and high standards.
- Lead the monitoring, challenge, intervention, and support provided to schools where children and young people are at risk of suspension, not being included due to ill health, or not receiving their entitlement to full-time education.
- Maintain a central database of all children accessing Alternative Provision or not receiving full-time education in the usual way, ensuring compliance with the Ofsted Safeguarding Framework.
- Represent the team at appropriate monitoring and Ofsted meetings, providing key insights and ensuring high standards of practice.
- Ensure effective and up-to-date recording and reporting systems, including the termly Alternative Provision monitoring completed by all schools and settings.
- Shape team practices using nationally recognised good practice, evidence-based analysis, and data.
- Establish and maintain systems for the management, performance, supervision, development, and enablement of staff in line with current CWaC guidance.
- Identify and address training and development needs within a quality-assured framework, including safeguarding training and procedures.
- Manage the team’s budget using the Collaborative Planning management system, ensuring the efficient and effective deployment of resources.
What We’re Looking For: To excel in this role, you will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or local authority setting.
- A strong track record of building and leading successful teams.
- Experience in developing and implementing effective leadership strategies.
