Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a GCSE Maths/Science Teacher to work full-time based in a Secondary School.

The salary for this permanent Teacher job is up to £37,620.

Main Duties:

  • To prepare, plan and teach the agreed curriculum.
  • To teach, according to their educational needs, the pupils assigned to you, including the setting and marking of work to be carried out by the pupil in and out of school
  • To assess, record and report pupils' development, progress and attainment.
  • To advise and co-operate with the Head of Education and Education Manager and other teachers on the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral arrangements
  • Participate in meetings at the school which relate to the curriculum and the administration and organisation of the school
  • To promote the general progress and well-being of individual pupils and of any class or group of pupils assigned to you
  • To provide guidance and advice to pupils on educational and social matters, further education, and future careers, including information about sources of more expert advice on specific questions and making relevant records and reports
  • Communicate and consult with pupils' parents/guardians
  • To participate where necessary in arrangements for preparing pupils for public examinations and in assessing pupils for such examinations; recording and reporting such assessments; and participating in arrangements for pupils’ presentation for and supervision during such examinations
  • To build and maintain professional relationships with pupils and staff and act professionally at all times

Requirements of this job:

  • Qualified Teacher
  • A good standard of education
  • Hold recognised qualifications commensurate with the area of teaching
  • A good knowledge of child development issues
  • A good understanding of the pathology of abused young people
  • Demonstrably good communication skills
  • Demonstrably good stress management skills

  • An ability to work independently under your initiative
  • An ability to apply boundaries positively
  • An ability to build effective relationships with young people, colleagues and other adults
  • An ability to demonstrate creative problem-solving
  • The motivation to assist and encourage young people to learn whose previous education experiences may be negative
  • An understanding of oppression and the ability to demonstrate anti-discriminatory practice
