Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a dedicated early years practitioner for a full-time contract role in Slough, with a pay rate of £16.75 per hour. Part-time hours will be considered for the right candidate. Key responsibilities:

  • Delivering early learning activities: prepare and deliver a range of early learning activities that meet the developmental needs of each child.
  • Support children’s learning and growth through play-based, age-appropriate educational programmes.
  • Supporting daily operations: act as a hands-on team member to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, including curriculum delivery, safeguarding, and maintaining health and safety protocols.
  • Take part in routine cleaning, cater to children’s needs, and keep detailed records in line with OFSTED requirements.
  • Facilitating smooth transitions: collaborate with local primary school staff to provide integrated care, promoting smooth transitions for children advancing to their next educational phase.
  • Resource management: ensure the setting’s resources are used efficiently and effectively, supporting a high-quality learning environment while maintaining cost-effectiveness. Promote positive behaviour and uphold the setting’s equalities and inclusion policies.
  • Community and agency collaboration: act as a representative of the setting, fostering positive relationships with parents, local schools, and community partners.
  • Engage in multi-agency collaboration to provide comprehensive support services to children and families, attending planning and staff meetings as required.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience: proven experience working with young children in an early years setting.
  • Skills and abilities: strong organisational, verbal, and listening skills, with the ability to record information clearly. The role requires tact, diplomacy, and the ability to inspire and influence others, maintaining professional standards in line with OFSTED regulations.
  • Resourcefulness: able to use resources effectively to manage expenditures and uphold quality standards.
  • Flexibility: willingness to work flexibly, including occasional evenings, early mornings, and some weekends as needed.
  • Physical readiness: physical fitness for the demands of early years work, including lifting and carrying.
  • Qualifications: a level 3 qualification in early years practice (or equivalent) with a commitment to professional development and further training.
