Pay Rate: £23 - £28 per hour

Hours: Locum 3 month contract (Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm)

Main Duties of the Building Block Tutor:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Delivery: Support the delivery of employability and health & safety training within a classroom environment, helping learners become 'site-ready' for construction jobs.
  • Course Administration: Ensure all administrative duties related to the programme meet the requirements of funding bodies and stakeholders.
  • Programme Support: Assist the Senior Project Officer in the design and delivery of the training programme, ensuring high-quality and impactful training sessions.
  • Multiple Sites: Deliver employability and site safety training across two locations in S2—the Construction Design Centre and the Building Block Cabin.
  • Learner Support: Guide and support cohorts of around 20 learners every two weeks, preparing them for success in the construction industry.
  • Resource Management: Collaborate with the Senior Project Officer and Programme Coordinator to ensure that facilities and resources are well-maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Audits & Inspections: Assist with internal and external audits and inspections to ensure the programme maintains high standards and meets all necessary regulations.
  • Additional Duties: Take on any other tasks that support the success of the programme as agreed upon with management.

Requirements of the Building Block Tutor:

  • Relevant vocational qualifications such as BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience as a Teacher or Tutor in the UK, ideally within a similar field.
  • Proof of eligibility to work and live in the UK, along with a current DBS check and references covering the last 5 years.
