Job role/responsibilities:

  • An experienced commissioner who has led commissioning teams – preferably covering adult social care – to lead the newly formed adults commissioning service.
  • An experienced leader who will join the adults social care leadership team and work collaboratively with AD colleagues to deliver the adult social care strategy and support the delivery of balancing the budget for 23/24 and planned savings for future years.
  • To be able to take up the leadership of the commissioning service immediately – ‘to hit the ground running’.
  • Lead the delivery of the commissioning projects in the adults social care improvement programme working with an external partner.
  • Lead the delivery of the commissioning priorities assurance and CQC inspection priorities – working with the AD for Improvement and Assurance.
  • Lead the commissioning elements of the pooled budget and lead commissioning arrangement
  • Work with the leadership team in partnership with the NHS and other key partners to deliver the adults social care strategy.
  • Promote and deliver co-production and outcomes based commissioning throughout all of the commissioning work.

Selection criteria questions:

  • Experience in a similar role within a local authority commissioning service is essential
