What you will do:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals experiencing mental health crises to evaluate needs and risks.
Determine if individuals meet the criteria for detention under the Mental Health Act 1983.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, police, and ambulance services to ensure all assessments are thorough and humane.
Facilitate multi-disciplinary meetings to discuss care plans and advocate for individuals’ rights and preferences.
Provide immediate intervention and develop care plans to stabilise individuals in crisis situations.
Maintain detailed records, complete legal documentation, and prepare reports for court as necessary.

Essential Skills:
Solid assessment and decision-making capabilities under pressure, with a deep understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983.
Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex information clearly to families and colleagues alike.
Empathetic approach to building trust with individuals and families, alongside strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Resilience to handle emotionally demanding situations while maintaining professionalism.
