Interim Adult Social Care Charges Review (Residential)

Job role/responsibilities:

  • Assess Chargeable Services: Examine which services are chargeable and how the Care Act 2014 is interpreted and applied in relation to service charges.
  • Evaluate Charging Practices: Review the services for which charges are applied, including how rates are established through full cost recovery and benchmarking against other local authorities.
  • Review CCC Charging Policy: Analyse the current Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) Adult Social Care Charging Policy for its effectiveness and alignment with best practices.
  • Analyse Disability Related Expenditure: Compare how Disability Related Expenditure is applied by other local authorities to identify potential improvements for CCC.
  • Consider the Cost-of-Living Crisis: Explore the impact of the cost-of-living crisis and highlight support available from County and District Councils, as well as national and third-sector organisations.
  • Provide Recommendations: Develop clear recommendations for the local authority on the application of the charging policy, including opportunities to support individuals and considerations for ensuring equity.
  • Maximise Income Opportunities: Identify strategies for maximising local authority income based on findings and recommendations.

Selection criteria questions:

  • Experience in a similar role within a local authority social care team is essential
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Available to start ASAP
