James Rook
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
With a career spanning more than 20 years within health and social care resourcing, James leads with one ambition; to set the standard in health and social care recruitment; offering trusted and resilient resourcing solutions.
Since joining as Managing Director in 2006, he has taken Sanctuary Personnel from a relatively small business to one of the UK’s leading health and social care recruitment companies.
He has an enormous passion for the industry and contributes a unique understanding of the sector amongst an exclusive network of health and social care leaders.
Regularly meeting with CEOs, directors, heads of staffing, procurement leads of local authorities and NHS trusts, James is not one to sit behind a desk. He works directly with clients to find innovative resourcing and managed service solutions.
Appointed as Chair of The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) Health and Social Care Sector Group in 2017, he is also committed to driving up UK standards in safe and innovative recruitment solutions.
Making a difference is what really matters to James. This is why he supports several charities, including the Social Worker of the Year Awards, where he sits on the board as a trustee.
When he’s not busy directing, he can be found watching his three children play sport. And on a mission of his own, he hopes to reclaim victory at the Hunstanton Lawn Tennis Tournament, the largest amateur tournament in the country. He also enjoys water skiing and has just started painting again.
