Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting for a Plant Mechanic to join a full-time locum role based in Leicestershire. The hourly pay for this position is £20.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and manoeuvre plant equipment as necessary, including recovering defective or damaged equipment.
- Carry out full technical checks and diagnostic tests on plant machinery.
- Observe, recognise, and report on plant component or systems defects, or impending failure, assessing and recording repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections, services, and repairs of plant equipment according to scheduled plans and prescribed quality standards.
- Examine equipment and report on the condition, roadworthiness, and safety.
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs and adjustments as required, following prescribed quality standards.
- Interpret and implement technical service instructions and manufacturer modifications.
- Maintain a personal tool kit, special tools, and equipment in a safe and secure condition.
- Be prepared to work outside of normal working hours and undertake departmental standby rota responsibilities when required.
Candidate Requirements:
- Hold a Level 3 qualification in plant maintenance or an equivalent alternative.
- Previous experience working in a fleet workshop or garage.
- Understanding of Health and Safety policies and their application.
- Proven experience diagnosing mechanical faults and using electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team and manage time, organise, and prioritise tasks within tight deadlines.
- Ability to respond confidently to customers and colleagues, maintaining professionalism and diplomacy.
- Remain calm and positive in challenging situations and cope with fluctuating workloads.
- Ability to meet time deadlines, cost, and quality targets.
Additional Information:
- Must hold a valid driving licence and have access to own transport.
- The role may require working outside of normal working hours and being part of a departmental standby rota.
